message from the Polemarch

Greetings,

As Polemarch of the Killeen Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., it is both an honor and a privilege to extend greetings to the public in the spirit of community service, and to my brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi in the spirit of true Brotherhood. On behalf of the entire chapter, I welcome you to the official website of the Killeen Alumni Chapter—proudly known as the “Killeenest Nupes.”

Our History

Our History

The story of the Killeen-Fort Hood (TX) Alumni Chapter began with a vision: to extend the legacy and impact of Kappa Alpha Psi® into Central Texas. A petition was formally submitted to the Grand Board of Directors of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., requesting permission to establish an alumni chapter in the Killeen-Fort Hood area.

This petition was signed by dedicated brothers whose commitment and leadership laid the foundation for our chapter:

  • Sammie Alston – Alpha Lambda (SC State University), 1971

  • Melvin Banks – Zeta Beta (Prairie View A&M University), 1974

  • Charles Bryant – Zeta Beta (Prairie View A&M University), 1970

  • Milton D. Corley – Tuskegee Alumni, 1973

  • Vacal D. Caldwell – Petersburg Alumni, 1973

  • Ronald C. Foster – Lawton/FT. Sill Alumni, 1972

  • Ronald I. Gray – Alpha Phi (VA State University), 1973

  • Craig B. Hanford – San Antonio Alumni, 1976

  • Melvin E. Hunter – Alpha Chi (Wiley College), 1959

  • Leroy Mitchell – Alpha Lambda (SC State University), 1970

  • Milford Louis Marshall – Alpha (Indiana University), 1949

  • Rapheal C. Paschall – Beta Upsilon (TX Southern University), 1973

  • Vernon L. Trotter – Gamma Sigma (University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff), 1970

  • Lew G. Tyree – San Antonio Alumni, 1976

  • Larry Wilkins – Alpha Lambda (SC State University), 1972

After careful review, the petition was approved. The Fraternity charged the Grand Polemarch, Grand Keeper of Records and Exchequer, and the Grand Strategus with issuing an official Charter in the name of the Grand Chapter.

On January 29, 1977, this charge was fulfilled. The Great Seal of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was affixed, officially establishing the Killeen-Fort Hood (TX) Alumni Chapter. The charter was signed by:

  • Grand Polemarch Atty. Hiliary H. Holloway

  • Grand Keeper of Records and Exchequer Arthur W. Jones Jr.

  • Grand Strategus Ransom W. Jones Jr.
